Privacy policy

Kyzin is made by ZLNON, a software studio in Doha, Qatar ("we"). This policy explains what we collect when you use Kyzin, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain words. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@kyzin.app.
The short version
- We collect what we need to run Kyzin, and nothing for advertising.
- We never sell your data, and there are no ads.
- Kyzin AI, the assistant for your money and plans, is off until you turn it on, and it never receives your account balances, account names or the email address you sign in with.
- You can export your transactions (CSV) and calendar events (.ics), and ask us to delete your account at any time.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, name and profile photo, which we receive when you sign in with email or Google through Firebase Authentication.
- What you put in Kyzin: budgets, accounts, transactions, goals, tasks, projects, habits, focus sessions, reviews, notes, calendar events, counters, workouts, your watch and reading lists, and the photos and videos you attach to workouts and event plans.
- Health: the medications you add, with their schedules and notes, and the doses you mark as taken or skipped. If you sync a phone health app, the steps, sleep and weight it shares.
- Kyzin AI: if you turn it on, your conversations with the assistant and the changes it proposes. If you also let the assistant learn about you, the facts it picks up from what you write, such as your work hours. Guesses about your sex, religion, diet, allergies or health are kept aside, unused, until you confirm or dismiss them.
- Companion profile: what you choose to fill in under Settings → Companion, such as your preferred name, age range, sex, relationship status, religion, city, occupation, household, work and sleep patterns, goals, diet, allergies and health notes. Every field is optional. Once you turn on Kyzin AI for plans, the assistant reads the fields you filled in when it replies or drafts for you.
- Waitlist: if you join the waitlist, your email address, the language you used and an invite code.
- Settings: your language, time zone, currency and theme.
- Technical data: basic logs our hosting providers keep to run and protect the service, such as IP address and browser type. If error reporting is on, its reports leave out your personal details and the content of your requests.
We don't use advertising cookies or trackers. Your browser keeps your sign-in session and preferences, such as the theme, on your device so Kyzin works.
How we use it
- To run Kyzin: store your data, keep it in sync across your devices and show it to the people you choose to share with.
- To send the emails you expect: your waitlist confirmation, invites and important account messages.
- To keep Kyzin secure and fix problems.
- To award XP, streaks and achievements, which our servers work out from your activity.
We don't sell your data, use it for advertising or share it with data brokers.
Sharing with people you choose
When you share a budget or a project, the people you invite can see it and, if you allow it, change it. Every entry shows who added it. Habits, focus sessions and reviews are always personal.
Services we use
We rely on these providers to run Kyzin. They process data only to provide their service to us.
- Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database).
- Google Firebase: Authentication (sign-in), Cloud Storage (the photos and videos you upload) and Cloud Firestore (counters and synced health data).
- Mailtrap (sending email).
- RevenueCat and Stripe (subscriptions and payments, once Pro is available).
- DeepSeek and Google Gemini (Kyzin AI, only after you turn it on). We send only what each feature needs, never your account balances, account names or the email address you sign in with. For plans, Gemini also indexes the text of your tasks, projects, habits and reviews and of your messages to the assistant, with email addresses and long numbers masked, so the assistant can find related ones. The calendar's AI Polish button also uses Gemini, even when Kyzin AI is off: it sends the text you choose when you press it.
- Replicate (removing the background from photos you add to an event plan; this doesn't wait for the Kyzin AI switch yet).
- Catalogue services for your library (TMDB, Jikan, AniList, RAWG and Google Books) receive the words you search for, never your account details.
- Sentry (error reports), when it is enabled.
These providers may store data outside Qatar. We choose providers that protect data in transit and at rest.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except anything the law requires us to keep, such as payment records. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule.
Your choices and rights
- Export: download your transactions as CSV and your calendar events as .ics from the app.
- Correct: edit what you add, such as transactions, tasks and events, where it lives in the app, and change your language, theme and companion profile in Settings. To correct your name or email address, email hello@kyzin.app.
- Delete: email hello@kyzin.app from your account's email address and we will delete your account and data.
- AI: turn Kyzin AI on or off at any time, separately for money and for plans, and stop the assistant learning about you, or dismiss its guesses, in Settings.
- Questions or complaints: email hello@kyzin.app. You can also contact your local data protection authority.
Children
Kyzin is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email.
